New Delhi: Deakin University, Australia has expanded its Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program 2023 to offer financial support to high-achieving Indian students. The university has extended 10 scholarships, each worth over INR 6 Million.
As per Deakin University, this initiative is taken to support students in becoming global citizens who can positively impact their communities back in India. The university will offer a 100 per cent fee waiver to selected students through this step.
The fee waiver will be provided to students for their complete course duration at Deakin Campus in Victoria, Australia. Interested candidates who wish to apply for the Deakin University scholarship program can apply for July 2023 intake on the official university website.
Speaking on this occasion, Professor Iain Martin, President and Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, said, “Nearly a decade ago, Deakin recognised the need for Indian students to have better access to world-class education to fulfill their immense potential, and initiated the Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious 100% Scholarship program (India)”.
“Today, I am thrilled to announce that our commitment to empowering Indian students has only grown stronger. We are increasing the number of scholarships from four last year to ten this year, further opening the door to a world-class education for deserving students”, he shared.
The step to expand the scholarships is taken as a part of the university's 'Changing Lives’ program. The program aims to have a significant impact on the lives of deserving students in India.
In addition to this, the 'Changing Lives’ initiative enables deserving students who have shown both academic excellence and all-around accomplishments a chance to complete their studies on-campus at Deakin University in Australia.

Through this scholarship program, we are investing in the future of India and its people,” Professor Martin said.
