- This course is designed to train student in light vehicle mechanics to develop studentr skills and ensure student are competent to perform at industry standards.
- Student will learn how to apply safe work practices, test and service batteries and carry out repairs to single electrical circuits. This course will help student develop students skills in servicing and repairing engine management systems, steering, suspension, transmission and braking systems, and teach student about inspecting and servicing engine cooling systems.
- This course also covers inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repair of manual and automatic transmissions, how to repair steering and suspension systems, the detailed servicing of hydraulic brake systems, engines and fuel systems as well as engine and driveline management systems.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- Completion of secondary studies equivalent to Australian Year 12 is generally required for admissions to most courses at Box Hill Institute.
- Some Certificate courses may be entered after completion of secondary education at year 11/10. Special entry for mature aged students is also available and will be considered on the basis of past secondary study, employment skills or work experience
