I think they really value student satisfaction over anything they really tried to understand or really tried to help you in terms of fresher in terms of if you need some changing you know a lot of my friends if they didn't like courses it was quite easy to drop and find a new one instead of a long procedure where you know might scare students that I am not liking the class but then there is such a long procedure and I don't wanna drop the class now. So I think in terms of that they really try to be as helpful and as flexible as they can.
Course Curriculum
Like I think because it is not very extremely high ranked, I think its quite minimal quite handled of course its challenging of course it does push you to your limits I think its much better pressure it does understand students needs its quite understanding in terms of how the situation is going on they really handled COVID well by not stressing out the students a lot.
Exams
I was doing my IB (international baccalaureate) diploma so I had to look at how many points I had and the min requirement for my course was I think 32 and I had 36 so that wasn't much of a problem for me and I just had to submit my grades, my IB diploma up to the application forms and everything that was basically quite straight forward and then I received unconditional letter and as soon as my school gave my IB results to me I got my unconditional letter. I did have to do the TOEFL. I had to mention why I wanted to join here, I gave a few examples like, in my school I had really experience a lot of psychological distrust and I think that really interested my and grows my interest in the topic I had got the opportunity to be there for these children who just had surgeries.
Placement
I think really both because I have all my units are divided into the two components you just said I have lots of research based units and I have lots of practical based units as well but I think Deakin does a really good job in adding practical units lots lots of them I think every research component also has a practical side where I could use that information in a job or you know in activity.
Internship
I do not have I think that was going to be in the third year, and I was going to go there this year, but I can't. So Deakin has a website called Deakin Jobs, so there is a whole variety of jobs where you can apply, and they also have on-campus events that give you the opportunity to talk to companies or individuals that are hiring people..
Faculty
So student teacher ratio I can't tell you much about because I am not sure either in terms of teacher support and the teaching style I think its quite good so we have two types of classes or two types of lecture one is where it is a proper class its a lecture in a big hall where only the teacher is talking and we are just taking notes and learning and then we have this seminar seminar is more so 10 students it won't go more than 10 or 12 and where there is more hands on approach and more assignment help more where we have more opportunities to ask teachers and get more head that we need. Unfortunately I think like so in my faculty has helped that itself has lots of diversity but if I go little bit deeper into the psychology I wouldn't say there are lots of international students as that's the problem I am facing in finding you know friends I could talk about the same classes same course structure which I think is a little bit of downside but I think it can you know I can recuperate
Campus Life
So, I think Deakin is quite well rounded in all of the three things you just mentioned. They have really good research facilities and labs because I have been looking and I have lot of friends in the nursing and medical community so I know that they have a lot of opportunities for them as well. Sports also a lot of my classmates and friends do play sports they have all kinds of sports sport teams, cheerleading, basketball, volley ball and a very very expensive library, three floors library, and lots of staff to help they also just opened the new law building and the whole floor gym and pool so they do provide a lot of good experiences to new students and people who are doing on campus study. So they also have lots of groups like they have a dance club, they have a book club they have lots of you know lets go to picnic club, they have lots of facilities for new students who don't they also have friends group you know to meet with people they have parties and during orientation week I think that's when they have the most number of parties. So unfortunately I only got to do one year of my undergraduate there because of COVID and the first year I just decided to you know look instead of joining groups I was just trying to find new people get my space cause I have never done psychology before so I really wanted to focus on my academics but and when I thought I do it in second year that's when I had to come back home.
Hostel
One tip that I have for you guys is to plan for your study abroad as soon as possible, planning ahead is important because there are a lot of details you will need to take into account before you leave. So yeah, that's about it all the very best guys.
