I chose this university as it has an excellent Computer Science program which ranks in the top 50 universities in the world. It also ranks 4th worldwide in Graduate Employability above the likes of Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, etc. I also admire the fact that the university is located in close proximity to the CBD, which is the business hub of Sydney.

Course Curriculum

9

The course syllabus is updated annually and it closely resembles the current industry standards. Companies like Google and Facebook closely work with the University's Computing Society, regularly hosting barbecues to foster community engagement.

Exams

For the application, I was only required to submit an SoP for the student visa. I had to write about my ambitions and aspirations. I also wrote about my previous education and work experience and how they shaped my life. Finally, I mentioned how I selected my university and indicated how the university is the perfect fit for me.

Placement

10

The university has excellent post-study placements. It hosts regular job fairs, where the biggest companies come to hire the third year, fourth year, and newly graduated students. The university also has a strong alumni network which enables students to get amazing job prospects. It also finances startups which provide additional opportunities for students and entrepreneurs alike.

Fees

192,000 AUD

No

Faculty

9

Faculty to student ratios at labs and tutorials is 1:20 and for lectures is 1:90. The faculty is highly approachable and is always available on the Ed forum.

Campus Life

The campus has a blend of historical and modern buildings with world-class infrastructure. It has huge libraries with a plethora of books, spanning a diverse range of subjects. It has fast and reliable WiFi coverage all over the campus. Also, the sports facilities are of Olympic standards, including a full-size swimming pool.

Hostel

No. I live in an individual studio apartment, which costs me 395 AUD/week. This is the average cost of housing. However, there are many shared apartments where you can get rooms for as cheap as 200 AUD/week.
