This research degree will provide opportunities for students to carry out advanced research in response to a research question of their choice.
Students devise and implement a Design research project to answer a specific question, placing the answer in the context of an intellectual tradition and communicating it clearly to others.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Design, applicants must:

hold a Bachelor degree in the non-related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
OR hold a Bachelor degree or a Graduate Certificate (or higher) in a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution - these students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing
OR hold a Graduate Diploma of Design or a Bachelor Honours degree in a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution - these students will be eligible for 80 credit points of advanced standing
OR have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above - these students may be eligible for 10 to 80 credit points of advanced standing
