The closing date of Semester 1 for this program is November 30.
- The University of Queensland offers a Master of International Relations/Master of International Law for a duration of 2 years.
- It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
- This dual master's program will enable students to understand the links between international politics and international law.
- These include how political events can shape international legal decision-making, the impact of law on trade, international security, and other political issues, and how politics and law mutually shape each other.
- Students will gain the qualifications to get ahead in their chosen international profession.
- In International Relations, courses introduce the history of the international system, theoretical approaches to international relations, security in the international system, and international political economy.
- In International Law, one compulsory course introduces public international law, and the remaining three focus on international law in action, and the nexus between international and domestic law.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to International Relations: peace and conflict studies, international relations, political science, sociology, cultural studies, history, economics/political economy, anthropology or ethnography, and Law.
- Or, complete a Graduate Certificate in International Relations or Graduate Certificate in International Studies or Graduate Diploma in International Studies from the university.
- Or, complete a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of full-time equivalent International Relations-relevant work experience.
- Students must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Students must hold a GPA of 4 (60%) on a 7 point scale.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
Scores Required
Submission of GRE scores is required for this program, however, it is recommended to submit the scores (300+) for a better chance of admission.
Required Document List
Following are the required documents:
- CV/Resume: Outline of academic achievements or awards, publications, relevant work, or volunteer experience.
- UQ Online Applications: Students have to fill online applications to take admission.
- Academic Transcripts: Students have to provide full academic transcripts that contain student’s unit results.
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE): It is an official document issued to international students by universities in Australia. It confirms that students have accepted a place in a course, and have paid tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover premium (OSHC).
- Evidence of work experience: It includes details of management experience in the form of a CV.
- Personal Statement: It should include a brief overview of student’s strengths and any work experience and/or education that they have.
- Supplementary documents: Students may be required to provide additional information with the application, depending on which University course they choose.
- ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English languages proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other recognized English test results.
