  • The Statistics and Operations Research program will develop knowledge of statistical and operations research methodologies.
  • Students will combine a theoretical foundation with practical applications of current techniques employed by practicing engineers, scientists, and other professionals in industry, research, consulting, teaching and business.
  • This is achieved using statistical software accompanied by an in-depth understanding of the statistical processes involved.
  • Students will be particularly knowledgeable, creative, and critical in the sense of how they interpret and analyze data. They will also be equipped with the ability to apply knowledge to solve a wide range of real-world problems.
  • The program includes an industry project component and/or minor thesis which will develop your consulting and research skills.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Following are the requirements for this program:

  • An Australian bachelor degree in any discipline, or equivalent. OR
  • Students may also be considered if they have at least 10 years of work experience in statistics and operations research.

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have successfully completed:

  • Successful completion of an Australian bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in one of the following fields: Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering or Network Engineering with a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0.
  • Applicants who have successfully completed a relevant degree (as above) with a GPA of at least 1.5 out of 4, will be considered if they have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. OR
  • Successful completion of an Australian postgraduate qualification (or international equivalent) in a related discipline (as above). OR
  • Applicants without any relevant prior qualification will be considered if they have at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Requirement for this program: Students must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) with a minimum 65% average
  • Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
