  • The Diploma in Mechanical Technician - CNC and Precision Machining at George Brown College is a two-year program that provides students with the knowledge and skills required to operate and program CNC machines and produce precision machined parts.
  • The program is designed to be completed in four semesters of full-time study, and consists of a combination of classroom lectures, laboratory work, and hands-on training.
  • Students will learn about machine shop safety, CNC programming, blueprint reading, and quality control, among other topics.
  • Throughout the program, students will have access to state-of-the-art CNC machines and other precision machining equipment, and will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through co-op placements in industry.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students have completed an Ontario Secondary School diploma or equivalent degree.
  • Students must complete Grade 12 English (C or U) with 60% or higher.
  • Students also have to complete a Grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade 12 (C or U) with 60% or higher.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria

  • Students must be graduated from senior secondary school.
  • Students have a minimum overall of 60% in 10th and 12th Grade for all streams.
  • Students also have a minimum overall of 50% in English and Maths in 10th and 12th Grade.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
