- This program is designed to introduce students to the various techniques used to create visual effects for film and television. The focus of the course is to explore the software tools used to create visual effects and issues involved in combining these effects with live-action footage. The student's final projects will be used to create a finished portfolio.
- Software taught in this course includes Eyeon's Digital Fusion and Autodesk's Maya. Students are introduced to green screen filming and lighting techniques. Programs are normally offered twice per year. Qualified graduates are in high demand in this rapidly expanding field for the entertainment industry. Employment may be found as digital effects artists, effects directors and supervisors, digital compositors and lighting artists.

Admission Requirements
- Ontario university or college degree or college diploma or equivalent in fine art, 2D/3D animation, photography, film/video, architecture, or graphic design
- Letter of intent
- Art/image portfolio
English Language Requirements
All applicants to Seneca must be well prepared to study in English. If you are coming from a country where English is not the primary language, you must show one of the following:
- Successful completion of a minimum of two years of full-time study in a school and country where English is the primary language
- Successful completion of a minimum of one year of full-time study at the postsecondary level in an institution and country where English is the primary language
- Successful completion of an intensive English program such as the English Language Institute
- English proficiency test scores from one of the international English language testing bodies are listed below. Only tests taken in the last two years are considered valid
- IELTS Academic - Minimum 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
- PTE Academic - Minimum score 58
- TOEFL iBT (including MyBest TOEFL and Home Edition) - Minimum 80 with no skill below 20
- Duolingo - Minimum score 105 to 110
- Cambridge English Exams (B2 First/FCE, C1 Advanced/CAE, or C2 Proficiency/CPE) - Minimum 169 with no skill below 162
