Course Curriculum

8

Overall, I think the curriculum is okay. It depends on what you're looking at and what faculty you're looking into. Some classes try and jam way too much into such a small period of time, making me wish some were more focused - but overall, good.

Faculty

8

Like any college/university, or any school, or any workplace there are good ones and bad ones. Some I think are great people but awful profs, some I think are awful people but good profs, and some I like entirely.

Accommodation

7

Overall, good. Just pricey and some, depending on the residence and the floor are a bit out-dated and need updates! Students on these floors pay the same amount as those who live on a renovated floor.

Fees

The whole school is money hungry. Like most universities. Although, our tuition is cheaper than most so I shouldn't complain. Their food costs are crazy though, $1.75 plus tax for a 2/$1.00 bag of dollar store chips, for example.

Scholarship

Yes. An entrance scholarship in which required my GPA be 3.3 or above after my first year In order to renew it. I had a 3.2 so I just missed it. I think they set the bar a bit high for that. The first year is all new and is tough. Should start at 3.0 then go to 3.3 for third-year renewal maybe. Also, I have gotten an in-class bursary.

Examination Structure

It depends on the professor. Hence why I take certain classes with certain faculty because they all have their own style. I like it when there's a balance on an exam between multiple choice/matching, short answer, and long answer (especially long answer if there is a choice, for example, 'pick three of the five questions').
