The school is known as one of the best research institutes and I received an undergraduate research scholarship. It also offered co-op and had many opportunities with the government. The admissions average for my program was also very low for me as I only needed to maintain a 75% in the sciences while I had the 90s. The other schools I apply to, Guelph and Waterloo were a bit more picky with averages.

Course Curriculum

8

I think it is extremely well-formed because I can choose from 3 specializations after first-year. This means I have a say in the curriculum I will study.

Exams

I chose this program because it was offered in extended french, co-op, and honours. This meant I could study partially in french and receive a bursary, have coop terms, and have a final honours project. The classes for my program were also often much smaller and its easier to get to know my peers and profs for EVS.

Placement

9

The school has a near 95%+ co-op placement rate and has among the top 3 co-op programs in Canada. They also offer international co-op services. Co-ops are not always paid but often are. There are especially several opportunities in the government and hospital.

Internship

They offer many on-campus jobs such as in the sports complex and campus stores. They have a variety of offered schedules and help accommodate during exam season. To find the jobs you can simply look at your ozone (school student portal).

Events

8

They have a great frosh week and welcome week to celebrate the arrival of new students. They also celebrate various religious holidays for all cultures.

Fees

The tuition fees were due August 27th and September 27th for students with OSAP. There were numerous scholarships available through the eurozone portal which anyone could apply for however somewhere specific to international students of francophones. For my program, the tuition fees were about $7,500. On average it was the same as other schools for the faculty of science.

Scholarship

I received $3,000 for my admission average of over 90% which I automatically received without applying and $1,000 for studying in an extended French stream which I also automatically received. I also received an undergraduate research scholarship which I had to apply for with a letter of recommendation, resume and interview.

Examination Structure

They are planned by the faculty and the information is posted online. They often give a distinct time limit.

Faculty

8

I think it's well balanced as they have many fun events but also support groups for academics. They advertise a lot of free help and tutoring they offer as well as academic advisors.

Hostel

I live in residence off-campus. It is an amazing experience meeting your roommates and making friends through residence events. I did not have a meal plan because it was near $4,500 for the year. One challenge was cooking because the room I had had a kitchenette with just one mini-fridge, microwave, and sink for 4 people.
