Colorado School of Mines is located to the southwest of Golden's downtown, bordered to the west by U.S. Route 6 and to the north by Clear Creek.

The SRC offers numerous recreational spaces, including a rec gym with elevated jogging track, fitness center, a competition-quality rock climbing wall, three multi-purpose dance/fitness studios, and general locker room space.
