Saint Peter's University vs University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill

The mission of the Saint Peter’s University Library is to support the instructional program and goals of the University and to ensure that every patron is an effective user of information and ideas. This mission is accomplished by providing intellectual and physical access to materials, by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in using information and ideas, and by working to meet the individual needs of patrons to become discriminating users of ideas, information and technology, thus contributing to lifelong independent learning.

Jersey City is the second largest city in New Jersey after Newark and the largest city in Hudson County with a population of more than 270,000.  Noted as one of the most diverse cities in the nation, Jersey City is part of the New York metropolitan area, with the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay on the east, and the Hackensack River and Newark Bay on the west. Jersey City has been named one of the most diverse cities in the nation. Jersey City features 30.7 miles of waterfront, and an extensive transportation infrastructure, making transportation to and from Jersey City to New York City a seamless experience. Redevelopment of the Jersey City waterfront has turned the city into one of the largest centers of banking and finance in the U.S., and led to its nickname of Wall Street West.

With a current cost of living that is 8% higher than the national average, the prices in Chapel Hill are up 1.5% from a year ago. Even though living in Chapel Hill is by no means the most expensive, the city happens to be 15.6% more expensive than living in Raleigh.

With the largest price increases found in transportation, housing, and food, the cost of basic living expenses in Chapel Hill only seems to be on the rise. While a lot of people moving to Chapel Hill seem to be relocating from the northeast and the west coast in search of a cheaper area, Chapel Hill remains to be a great option even though the prices and cost of living are higher than what residents would prefer.
