Located 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, Lewis University is a comprehensive, Catholic university, where the traditions of liberal learning, values and preparation for professional work come together with a synergy that gives the university its educational identity and focus. 

Lewis is one of many schools sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, an international Roman Catholic teaching order, with more than 320 years of teaching experience in the Lasallian tradition.


The Aurora campus is based primarily around a traditional quadrangle and adjacent areas. In total, the campus is approximately 32 acres. 


Library

The library has two major libraries – the Bill Bryson Library, which is the main university library, and Palace Green Library, which houses the special collections and archives

These collections include over 1,637,000 printed items, 19,500 e-journals and more than 313,000 e-books, 400 manuscripts, 40,000 early and rare printed books, 5,300 m (17,400 ft) of archives, over 50,000 objects and 200 paintings.


The philips library provides various facilities like e-books, databases, journals, study rooms, intralibrary loans etc. 


Campus Life

Lewis University campus is vast. It covers an area of 410 acres. There are four major campuses of the university. 

  • The students can choose from a wide variety of over 100 clubs and associations in the university.  
  • They can also participate in various intramural and intercollegiate sports and athletics, group fitness programmes, and fitness centres. 
  • The university ministry facilitates a spiritual lifestyle and conducts volunteer activities, bible study, and mission trips to awaken the cultural and social aspects in various areas and communities.

At AU, it doesn’t matter if you live in one of the seven residence halls, down the street, or the next town over. There’s always a good reason to be on campus. That’s because students themselves plan 40–50 events a semester. That’s in addition to the free Celebrating Arts and Ideas series, which features well-known speakers and authors as well as professional musicians, films, art exhibits, and theatre productions. Of course, Vago Field, Thornton Gymnasium, and Spartan Athletic Park are the places to be whether you’re competing on a team or cheering from the sidelines. Campus feels like home because you have a say about where you learn. You can lead through student government. Give back to the nearby community through volunteer initiatives. Support other students as a resident assistant or peer advisor. In other words, prepare to be the life of the campus. There are more than 50 student clubs and organizations, 22 intramural sport and 100+ events, workshops are held.

Romeoville ranks well in a combination of factors and diversity. Romeoville  truly has something for everyone, and that’s why it’s a great place to call home.

Romeoville is a good and welcoming town to be in. They have new restaurants opening constantly, as well as fun locations, such as a bowling ally for you to pass time with friends. Romeoville is fairly nice as the amount of things you can do is numerous. Most of the people are nice and the crime rate is not high at all.
