There are two campuses in Sunderland, one in Hong Kong and one in London. The Sunderland campuses are City Campus and the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter's.


Located in the City of London, Coventry University London is serious about business. We are part of one of the largest providers of business-related degree courses in Europe. To make sure our students maintain a leading edge and get the best possible business experience, we launched Coventry University London in the heart of the financial district in 2010.

Library

The University has two state-of-the-art libraries: The Murray Library and St Peter's Library. The Murray Library is open 24 hours a day and St Peter's Library until midnight during term time. Library services offer access to excellent resources and the support and skills you need to make best use of them. Each library houses fantastic subject collections for you to borrow while a considerable range of books, journals and module resources are available online. 


Physical stock is divided over three floors:

  • Ground Floor: Books 0-303, Study Skills Collections, Read and Relax Collection and Travel Guide Collection.
  • Floor 1: Books 304-599, Folio Books 0-999, Journals A-Z, Law reports
  • Floor 2: Books 600-999, CD/ DVDs/ Printed Music

The main body of the media collection (DVDs and CDs) can be found on Floor 2 of the Library. The collection includes:

  • 6,000 DVDs
  • Online access to Box of Broadcasts 

Campus Life

The University of Sunderland has four halls of residence: Scotia Quay, Panns Bank, Clanny House, and The Forge U-Student Village. The Students' Union is responsible for offering support and advice to students, leading campaigns and being the voice of the student body. The Students' Union's mission is to make all its members' University experience valuable for life. All students enrolled on a course at Sunderland University are automatically members of the Students' Union.  The university's Institute of Sport organises training events, courses and other sporting activities for students, staff and the local community. There are over 50 clubs and societies in the university. Users have access to the £12m CitySpace building on the City Campus, which features a climbing wall, fitness suite, physiotherapy and injury centre, sports hall, multi-purpose suite and spectator seating.

Griselda Allan – English artist
Richard Billingham – English photographer and artist who is best known for his photobook Ray's A Laugh which documents the life of his alcoholic father Ray, and obese, heavily tattooed mother, Liz.
Kerry Ann Christiansen – British actress who began her career in the popular British children's TV series Byker Grove.
Steve Cram – Retired track and field athlete. Along with fellow Britons Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett, he was one of the world's dominant middle-distance runners during the 1980s.
