- Both schools offer Full-time MBA for a duration of 2 years, but Macquarie also has a 1.5-year option. Both programs are AACSB accredited.
- The program at Macquarie is distributed into Core, Flexible and Elective modules, while that at UTS is a lot more career-oriented with students having to choose majors, sub-majors, and electives, which can be done in different combinations.
- Both colleges give credits for specific prior learning, which enables students to finish the program faster.
- At Macquarie, the annual fee for international students is 40,000 AUD whereas, at UTS, the fees are charged for each of the 16 subjects and each semester instead of the whole program. This may result in a lower or higher amount in comparison to Macquarie depending on the kind of course you select.
- Both colleges have a vast number of scholarships, but on average UTS gives more money per scholarship.
- Although admission at UTS only requires a bachelor’s with a 5.25 GPA (on a scale of 7), it is more difficult to get into than Macquarie. Admission at UTS requires a GMAT score of 550 and 4 years’ work experience while Macquarie sets as entry requirements a bachelor's degree with 65 WAM and 3 years’ work experience for the 2-year program.
Both universities have good-quality MBA programs and either one is bound to benefit prospective students. Still, the course at UTS will give you the advantage of tailoring it to suit your career plans, and hence may be preferred by people who have long-term ambitions in the field of business.
