The University of Surrey is just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Guildford, offering a vibrant blend of entertainment, culture and history.


The main campus is within the West End of the City of Dundee. The School of Nursing and Health Sciences has a campus on Forth Avenue, Kirkcaldy, Fife.


Library

 Library resources (print or electronic) includes books, articles, scores, TV/film, research publications, theses and dissertations, special collections and our unique archive materials.

They work with faculty to ensure that the collections reflect the needs of our community and engage students through social media and projects such as the Student Curator initiative.


  • The university has four libraries across its three campuses, with more than 750 computers for students to use.
  • A wide variety of resources are available through the library, ranging from e-books to video, image and sound resources.
  • Dundee’s main library is open until 2.30am during semester time, and 24/7 during the exam period.
  • The main library has silent, quiet and group work areas with the latest technology, plus bookable creative spaces and a café.

Campus Life

Surrey is known to emphasise the social life of students and always care about how you spend your free time at University. The student union offers more than 160 societies based on any hobbies and interests students have and clubs for all kinds of sport that a student might want to take up.

The Students’ Union is 7th in the country and plans some of the most exciting events around. 

StagTV is the television station run by students at the University of Surrey. It is primarily run from offices on the main Stag Hill campus and it also creates content for the Students' Union, through which it is a constituted group, but has editorial independence


  • The Dundee University Students' Association is affiliated with the Coalition of Higher Education Students in Scotland and the National Postgraduate Committee. Membership of the Students' Association is for all the students of the university.
  • 43 clubs are affiliated with the Sports' Union. There is an award ceremony for the sports clubs, along with a Blues & Colours Ball (see Blue (university sport)) to provide social interaction between the clubs.
  • Dundee students can also participate in traditional events during the academic calendar. A standard British Freshers' Week is organized towards the start of the year with a secondary one which is held when the university reconvenes after the vacation of Christmas.
  • The Institute of Sport and Exercise (ISE) offers wide facilities including a gym, squash courts, 25m swimming pool, sports fields, and tennis courts.
  • ISE works with the Dundee University Sports Union and offers more than 40 sports clubs, ranging from sports like netball and golf to ultimate Frisbee.
  • DUSA supports over 250 student societies which bring groups of students who share the same interest. The students can keep up with a current hobby with the broad range of activities or they can even try something different.

City Life

Surrey is the second-largest city by population in British Columbia and is only 23 km from Vancouver Centre. And, housing is more affordable than in Vancouver.  So, many people choose to live in Surrey and commute to Vancouver for work if necessary.
