The FOM University

S
8.3 /10

I talked to one of my seniors before getting into it. But, once I saw the course curriculum and what they were offering, it was worth it with the fee and all.

Course Curriculum :

The subjects and curriculum was up to date. At that moment, it was the only private entity that was offering a master's degree in Big Data & Analytics. Study is fine. Because of the COVID situations, we are back in our apartments. So, we don't have very much to do. We are just left with research papers and all. It is not like competition but, some pressure is there because, in India, the way of education is completely different from what we have in Germany. Here it's very much research-oriented. My third and fourth semester is completely research. So, either you have to work on a solution oriented project or a research project.

Exams :

There was a kind of entrance test and it was very much similar to CAT. After clearing it, we got an interview call. No, SOP was not required for me.

Internship :

They help us with the internships. But, because of this COVID situation, it is very bad here. The companies are very conservative. They are not hiring even the volunteer interns or recruiting anyone. So, it is really difficult. As far as your internship or if you want any recommendation for your job, so it depends if you prove your worth to them. If they find you really worth it like if you are hard working and you can do it, obviously they will recommend you.

Faculty :

The faculty is really good. They help us if we have any doubts. They usually reply within 4-5 days but, they might reply the same day also. The faculty will come and they will give us a topic. They will explain to us about it. After that, we have to do research on it. If we find any difficulty, we may ask. Then, the professor gives us a certain topic or we may choose our own, it is completely up to us. We have to work on it and do our own paper.

Campus Life :

In my university, there is a library but, it's not very big. You will find previous research papers and all. There are some conferences and all. There are industrial visits. Because my university is an applied university. So, there are a lot of people from the industry, so there is a lot of interaction with them. My university is for the working people. So, talking about the co-curricular activities, when I came here in the beginning there was a marathon.
