Wageningen University and Research(WUR) is one of the best universities for Life Sciences. It stands in 16th place overall in the world according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Europe has always had my heart, I fell in love with this place when I had come in 2012. It was then that I decided if I will pursue my higher education then it will be in Europe. So then as my field is biotechnology and WUR was the best university to make my dreams come true.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum and the education system differs a lot from home country to here. It was all going well until we faced pandemic. Everything changed around and education was online and it was the most difficult time to adjust to so many things happening around. We as International students should be ready to face all sort of circumstances. It wasn't easy in the beginning but the professors and other students were really friendly and that made it easy for me to cope up with the new system. I will soon start my master thesis and looking forward to get research experience.
Exams
A BSc degree in the equivalent subject that you want to pursue your masters. GPA of 70% and proof of English proficiency- IELTS > 6.0 and TOEFL 80/120. GRE is not a mandatory.
Placement
Post study placements are really good and there are plenty of opportunities to pursue your research and also to apply for PhD positions. As of now all of people i know who have finished masters are all working in the Netherlands in companies, industries. But due to the pandemic, it is challenging to find a decent job, but according to me nothing is impossible and if one has goals and plan accordingly in life, they definitely will succeed in life.
Events
Campus life is quite amazing!! I live with International students and its really good to stay with students with different cultural backgrounds. The infrastructure of the campus is quite amazing, beautiful buildings, wonderful campus. There were really good extracurricular activities happening before the pandemic. I am a board member(treasurer) for an organization, Indian Students Association(ISA, Wageningen).

The faculty changes for us for different courses. I don't have anything in particular but I have had good professors who are very friendly and very supportive.
