Among the 'space' related specializations offered, this university had the top rank. I focussed on non-USA universities only, because space field coming under the purview of defence in USA, thus restricting job opportunities for non-citizens.

Course Curriculum

10

The curriculum is up-to-date. The assignments are based on real-life data and projects, which the professors / academic staff are working on. It gives you a good glimpse of industry work and helps you gain confidence in working on real-life projects. There's also a compulsory internship component, in which you work at a company for a few months. Really good experience for those with zero industry experience. Also, you have the opportunity to work at any company in the world! Finally, a major portion of the degree is the master thesis. This project lasts for about 9 months usually, and you get to do research under the guidance of university professor and/or industry. There are also opportunities to get published and present at conferences.

Placement

There are events where companies come to tell about themselves. In general, you yourself have to approach the companies and universities you are interested in. There are no university placement services as such, but you get different trainings for interviewing, CV writing, Motivation letter writing, etc. You can also book slots with counsellors to practice 1-on-1 interviewing. There are advertisements and opportunities highlighted by the university and professors for job and research positions, for which you have to apply and follow through the company process. I would advice to start looking early and don't hesitate to apply.

Internship

I did an internship at Sitael (Pisa, Italy). The company didn't offer any stipend, but I received a grant from university of about 350 euros/month for the internship. The opportunity came up at universities job search portal for aerospace students.

Fees

The tuition fee was about 16000 euros per year. It usually takes two years to complete the degree.

Faculty

The faculty and staff are very helpful. They are academically very strong as TU Delft hires the best professors / researchers from all over the world. Most have PhD's and/or multiple years of experience in the field. They are also qualified lecturers and are well versed in subject matter at hand. Multiple techniques are used to help students grasp the concepts and they are always approachable if you need anything. My supervisor and guide Professor Ron Noomen was the kindest individual! I was able to achieve good quality research under is guidance. He was always there to listen and help the students.

Campus Life

Plethora of clubs exist, ranging from very technical to very cultural. There's also a facility at the campus where you can get involved in sports, games, gym, arts, crafts, reflection & lifestyle related events, projects, daily activities. Each department has their own research facilities and relevant equipments that can be used by students. A huge library exist on campus. You can go and read / work there. There are also computer labs that you can use, minimizing the need to carry your laptop to the university. Their are quiet rooms, and also rooms where you can do meetings with fellow students for projects and assignments. All buildings have cafeterias and many have microwaves too.

Hostel

The university doesn't own any hostels or rooms. However, the university does offer accommodation services, through which you can get rooms more easily at different locations near the university. These get filled up soon, so the earlier you pay the registration fee, the higher are the chances to get it. Apart from this, you can get rooms from HousingAnywhere website (these can be a bit expensive) or facebook groups (beware of scams here, verify the landlord's profile and view the house physically, before making payments). Others can be on specific building websites like cojohousing, Xior, etc. Usual costs are in the range of 400 - 700 euros per month for single rooms. These can be in houses, hostels or stand-alone one-room apartments.
