AICTE Releases Notification for the Matter of Faculty Recruitment and Matters in Technical Institutions; Check Full Details Here

The AICTE has released an official notification in regard to the recruitment of faculty members and other similar matters related to technical institutions. The notice was released on their official website aicte-india.org.

 All India Council for Technical Education previously received various complaints regarding its recruitment policies. In the light of this matter, AICTE uploaded a notification that specifies ‘clarification on equivalence and appropriateness of nomenclatures of degrees in technical institutions’.

The Council informed all the affiliated institutions to clarify all the rules and policies at the time of recruiting faculty. Moreover, it also instructed the institutions to look into similar matters that will give transparency as well as clarity to the candidates. There will be no injustice or biasedness in the recruitment process.

Previously in 2017, AICTE released a notification mentioning the recruitment process. It stated the recruitment of faculty members for various UG and PG courses in the Engineering and technology field. However, clarifying such topics did not help in stopping the grievances.

The Council also said that faculty members and the government also wanted clarity regarding the suitability of a candidate for a particular department. It said that if the candidate has a Ph.D. in one field and wants to apply for the other department, will he be recruited or not. 

Adding to it, the Council highlights that the suitability for the post will be assessed based on the nature of the course that will be decided by the recruitment body.

At the time of recruiting faculty members for UG programs of interdisciplinary field (for eg. aeronautical, biotechnology. nanotechnology, etc), the agency will consider either UG or PG degree from that major domain.

For other courses, the agency can adopt flexibility in deciding the process for recruitment. In other words, they can decide the allied major disciplines
