AICTE to Allow Concession on Admission for Kashmir Migrants

All India Council of Technical Education has approved to give concession on admission for Kashmir Migrants as well as Kashmiri pandits living in the valley of Kashmir from the academic year 2020-21.

According to an official statement released by AICTE, Kashmiri migrants and Kashmiri pandits can take admission in any educational institution on concession in any part of the country from the academic year 2020-21.

The following are benefits that students belonging to Kashmiri migrant and Kashmiri pandit community can access as per the official statement released by AICTE.

  • There will be a 10% relaxation in cutoff percentage to take admission in educational institutions. 
  • There will be an increase in intake percentage of up to 5% course-wise.
  • Reservation of 1 seat in merit quota has been given to students belonging to Kashmiri migrant and Kashmiri pandit community for the admission in a technical university.
  • The domicile requirement for Kashmiri migrants has been waived off however, Kashmiri pandits living in the valley of Kashmir still require a domicile certificate.

The concession on the admission of Kashmir Migrants will apply to all universities affiliated to AICTE.
