New Delhi: Delhi University's Academic Council has decided to hold a meeting on February 09, 2022, to discuss in detail the implementation of the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework in line with the National Education Policy.
As per the Delhi University, the earlier released draft of Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 (UGCF-2022) has received various criticism. Stakeholders have questioned the draft by saying that it will reduce the workload of faculty and the credit system also needs changes.
Earlier, on January 21, 2022, Delhi University released a draft of DU UG Curriculum Framework (UGCF 2022) in accordance with NEP 2022. Stakeholders were directed to submit their objections against the same till January 30, 2022.
As per DU officials, “The academic council meeting will discuss the implementation of the UGCF and any minor changes if required. The university has cleared the apprehensions of stakeholders by stating that the workload of teachers won’t be reduced".
Adding to the statement, the DU Academic Council stated that the detailed agenda of the meeting is yet to be set by the university. The main goal of the meeting will be to discuss the objections submitted and the implementation of UGCF 2022 based on NEP 2020.
The UG Curriculum Framework 2022 will play an important role in how the university will reshape and revise its DU UG Courses in the future. The university aims to bring together all relevant ideas and incorporate them into the curriculum to make its UG courses the best in the state.
To ensure there are no errors or criticism against the UG Curriculum Framework 2022, the Delhi University had asked teachers, students, parents, and eminent academicians to review the draft and submit their ideas and suggestions to the academic council.
In other news, Delhi University has released an important notice to discontinue the DU M.Phil program from the academic session 2022-23. The step has been taken in accordance with the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020.
