New Delhi: Delhi University officials have confirmed Extra- curricular Activities and Sports trials will be held for admission in academic session 2022-2023 and CUET will also be compulsory.
After a two-year extended break, Delhi University is preparing to hold sports and ECA trials for candidates. VC Yogesh Singh said that this year's trials will be held for all individuals interested in applying through the ECA and sports quotas. The varsity has not held trials in the last two years following the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic and the limits placed to contain it.
Delhi University Sports and ECA Quota
According to the current University admissions criteria, colleges must admit up to 5% of their students under the sports and ECA quotas. On April 5, 2022, DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh issued the DU Admission Policy for the academic year 2022-23. He described the new admission as a watershed moment, saying that DU Admissions 2022 will be conducted through CUET 2022, as ordered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for all central universities in India.
Students applying for admission through the ECA and Sports Quota should be aware that they must take the CUET.
According to VC Yogesh Singh, students seeking admission under Sports and Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) will be required to take a performance-based test in addition to the CUET. The combined score of the CUET and the performance-based test will be used to determine merit.
Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh of Delhi University also said that,"This year, if the Covid situation remains fine and there is no increase in cases, we will conduct sports and ECA trials. While giving admissions to students, 25 percent weightage will be given to CUET scores and 75 percent to their performance in the trials,". He further added that the Delhi University for admission 2022 will conduct centralized trials.
The VC further stated that DU UG Admissions will not be held through CUET 2022 for the School of Open Learning (SOL) and the National Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB).
All candidates, as well as those applying for admission to supernumerary seats, are required to appear in CUET 2022, he added.
