Delhi: A Departmental Integrity Panel has been approved by the Delhi University to probe issues of plagiarism and integrity in academics.
As the university has been on the receiving end of several allegations related to plagiarism against the principals of DU Colleges, it decided to take action against it.
The allegations were against Mr Pawan Sharma, Principal of Dyal Singh College and Ahmad Beg, the principal of Zakir Hussain College.
Delhi University replied on the issue saying " Delhi University College Principals are to be informed that the matters of Plagiarism and Academic Integrity will be taken to the concerned departments for research".
"As per as the UGC "promotion of academic integrity and plagiarism prevention in the higher educational institute" Regulations of 2018, The Competent Authority of the Delhi University has approved the composition of DAIP (Department Academic Integrity Panel)" it added

Plagiarism charges have been pulled up against the DU Colleges Principals. Separated compliments have been filed against Masroor Ahmad Beg and Pawan Sharma, the principals of Zakir Hussain College and Dyal Singh College.
Pawan Sharma denied the accusations while Ahmad Beg decided not to respond to reported questions.
"Ahmed Beg has plagiarised a paper from Sukhdeo Thorat, the former chairman of UGC. He is also accused of plagiarising the paper of Dr. Rakhi Gupta and Divya Gupta" wrote the Indian National Teachers' Congress to UGC chairman and Delhi University.

On May 23, Naveen Gaur filed a complaint of plagiarism against the principal of Zakir Hussian College, Mr Pawan Sharma. He wrote that the book titled "Training and Development", written by Dr. Pawan has been completely plagiarised.
"According to the Turnitin report, it comes under the third level of plagiarism" he added.
Addressing the issues, Pawa Sharma said "I have the reports of Turnitin that shows zero plagiarism in the book. I've been set up because my extension of principal's term is due and the accuser doesn't want me to stay"

The Chairman of Dyal Singh College Rajiv Nayan made a three-member committee that has been established to look into the issue.
The Delhi University decided to keep the matter aside as the faculty is busy with the college examinations. Balaram Pani stated they'll look into the matter once they'll be done with the examinations.
