MU distance education institutions to hold the first three backlog exams on Google Forms: Check details here


Mumbai University distance education wing announced that the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) teachers would conduct all backlog exams through Google forms scheduled to take place on October 19, 20, 21. 

The Mumbai University IDOL is all set to begin the re-examination on Monday, after providing a new online service provider to conduct final year exams for IDOL. Earlier, the exams were postponed due to technical issues. The university officials defined it as a “cyber attack." 

The new service provider by MU will hold exams for fresh candidates. Although, any information about the name of the new service provider was not disclosed, by Vinod Patil, Controller of examinations, MU.

A senior official stated on the condition of anonymity, “Only a few hundred students will be appearing for the backlog exams, so IDOL teachers will be conducting the exams on all three dates on Google forms. Exams for fresh candidates, including TYBCom, TYBA as well as MCom and MA will be conducted by the new service provider.

The university took this decision after days because all IDOL exams were rescheduled due to technical problems faced by a large number of students while appearing for the exam.

As per the records, around 9,000 TYBCom and TYBA students from IDOL and the various MU departments could not attempt their exams because of technical glitches on October 7, 2020.

During the exams, many students raised concerns about not being able to log on to the exam link provided by the authorities for the examination application given to students. 

However, the institute issued a statement on the same day, blaming the issues on a cyber attack on the university exam software. After this, no information about this issue was out by the authorities.
