Uttarakhand Education Department has declared that D.EL.Ed will be conducted on December 4. The entrance exam will be conducted throughout 29 cities of the state in 184 exam centres. More than 40000 students are expected to sit for the exams this year.

Many other exams were postponed along with D.EL.Ed due to the restrictions put in place owing to the virus outbreak. Now that the situation has normalized somewhat, authorities are less hesitant about conducting these exams.
However, proper care is being taken by the conducting authority and the state government to make sure that the examinees remain safe from the threat of infection. At the time that the exam was scheduled to be conducted, only 123 exam centres were authorized for the purpose of conducting the test.
That number has now been increased to 184 so that the average capacity of each exam centre goes down. Along with preventive measures such as these, students, as well as organizers, are required to comply with the Covid-19 guidelines as released by the state and the centre.

On the other hand, many applicants who completed their D.EL.Ed final year exam in the previous academic session was protesting against the Uttarakhand government for not being appointed as teachers in government schools. The protests were called off after they were reassured of employment by the education department.
