Is it possible to reschedule an Interview at IIM, Bangalore or IIM, Calcutta?
Yes, it is possible to reschedule an interview at IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta or any other IIM. If you can’t attend the interview, for some reason, you can write a mail and request them to give you another interview slot. You should explain the reason and attach proof with the mail. For example, if your semester examination dates are clashing with the interview date, you should attach the examination schedule with the mail.
For valid reasons, they agree to reschedule.
Is it good to quit my job for pursuing certification course in big data analytics from IIM Bangalore?

What are the sports facilities at IIM Bangalore?
One of my friends studied at IIM Bangalore. According to him the sports facilities at IIM Bangalore are really good.
- The complete facility is well equipped and every sport is done inside the campus except only a few games like swimming, squash, etc.
- A new sports complex has been made and it is well equipped with national level equipment. It includes swimming pools, squash rooms, and many more such facilities.
- IIM Bangalore also has a big ground with a perimeter roughly equal to 600 meters which can easily host cricket and football.
- There are games such as basketball, tennis, volleyball, and box cricket grounds or the court in the block near the campus.
- The sports complex is also equipped with a state-of-the-art gymnasium which easily hosts around 70 people at a time.
- There are regular yoga sessions planned these days and everyone is allowed to join here for holistic and spiritual growth.
- The beautiful campus also has a marathon track and it conducts yearly marathons for the past five years.
IIM Bangalore is well equipped with all the necessary sports facilities and equipment. You can train yourself and also take part in competitions held there. It will keep you energetic and fit, providing a wholesome development.
I have scored above 90 in class 10th but I got 79.5 % in class 12th. My college record is decent. Do I stand a good chance at IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta?
If your CAT score is above 99.90 percentile, you will have a decent chance of getting an interview call from IIM Calcutta.
IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore assign good weight to past academic records for the interview shortlist. You need to have a consistently good record throughout your 10th, 12th, and graduation to get a call from IIMA and B. Having relevant work experience of a minimum of 2 years is also important if you are targeting IIMB.
I was accepted in IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta but rejected by Lovely Professional University. What do I do?
Firstly, if you haven’t been able to get into Lovely Professional University, don’t get discouraged. Getting into IIMs is also a privilege. You can land decent jobs even as an IIM graduate. So just settle for the best IIM and achieve your goals.
But if you still think with one more chance you can ace the entrance exam of LPU, then take a dropout year and prepare well for it. It will be a year full of struggles but you will have to deal with it with the right spirit. Who knows you might actually get into LPA this time and fulfill your dream.
Why does IIM Bangalore bag more consulting roles than other IIMs?
This is not a consistent trend at all. As per the final placements statistics of the 2017–2019 batch, the major portion of IIM Ahmedabad went for consulting than that of IIM Bangalore.
- This pattern definitely varies each year across campuses. And one of the prominent reasons for this trend may have something to do with the selection pattern, and batch composition at IIM Bangalore.
- IIM Bangalore generally considers students with work experience more favorably in the selection process.
- A few of my friends did attend the IIMB’s interview and they told me that it was one of the most pleasant experiences. This was because the majority of questions circled around their work experience.
- There are also cases in which a student who has scored well in CAT might get a call from IIMA and other top B-schools but not IIMB. This can be attributed to a lack of work experience, that’s where these candidates miss out on scoring points.
This is why IIMB consists mainly of students with good work experience.
Many of these students have come after working at firms that are industry leaders in their domain. Consulting firms prefer candidates with work experience, especially the ones who’ve worked in companies as industry leaders. Thus they may be willing to roll out more offers at IIM Bangalore.
It may be true that IIM B received more consulting offers in certain years but it may not be correct to accept this as a general trend across years.
What's the main criteria for getting selected at IIM Bangalore?
IIM Bangalore cutoff stays around 99+. To get shortlisted, you need to have a decent profile with a good past academic record. You can also get a shortlist if you have a decent profile with significant extracurricular, coupled with a decent CAT score.
IIM Bangalore final selection depends on your performance in WAT and PI.
