Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : June 11th, 2023

No, the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad and ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad are two different business schools located in Hyderabad, India

ISB Hyderabad is the premiere B school having triple accreditation, also known as ‘Triple Crown’, i.e, AMBA, AACSB, and EQUIS accreditations. ISB Hyderabad was ranked 1st position in India, 6th in Asia & 39th globally by Financial Times Global (MBA) Ranking.

On the other hand, IBS Hyderabad is a constituent of the Institute of Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) Foundation for Higher Education. It was ranked 26th among top management institutes by NIRF in 2021.

Due to their similar acronyms, ISB and IBS sometimes cause confusion among students. However, as they learned the truth, they realized the significant differences between the two.

Which college is better for MBA; Loyola, Tapmi, Welingkar or IBS?

You should give Loyola or TAPMI the highest priority among these options. In the event that the Mumbai campus is chosen, Welingkar will be your second priority. In the event that Hyderabad is the winner, IBS will finish in third place. In any other case, it will be quite expensive to keep it.

How is IBS Hyderabad for MBA co-curricular, extra curriculum, campus life, and environment?

SG
Shubham Gupta Posted On : February 28th, 2023
Studied at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad

In pursuing an MBA at IBS Hyderabad, a case-based study methodology is utilized for teaching. The professor will provide a case for every class, and students must prepare for the case by reviewing relevant chapters and linking the concepts to the practical example discussed in the case. During class, the professor will manage the discussions on the case and students will present their viewpoints, which may be accepted or countered by the professor. The professor will guide the discussions to ensure the correct understanding of concepts is reached. In some instances, concepts will be taught by the professor. However, the college encourages self-study and does not spoon-feed the students.

A wide range of student clubs is available on campus, covering various fields. Each club is managed by students with a professor acting as a mentor. The clubs are responsible for conducting various activities such as quizzes, treasure hunts, guest lectures, movie screenings, sports competitions, and more. These clubs provide students with exposure to event management.

Annual events include a festival in January, where all clubs are responsible for preparing different events, and an annual sports fest organized by the sports club, where students from different colleges participate.

IBS Hyderabad offers a vibrant campus life with facilities such as a resort-like environment, two food messes, two cafeterias, an all-night cafeteria, and a well-equipped gym. The clubs schedule events during weekends and the college have a bus service to the city. On weekdays, buses run only in the evenings while on weekends they run throughout the day. Food festivals are regularly organized in the food messes, and there are many small dhabas and restaurants near the campus to cater to students' taste buds.

Is admission to IBS Hyderabad wastage of money?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : May 6th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

I'm not going to say it's a waste of money. How good of a return you can get from college rests more on how serious you are about it. Again, I'd like to bring up what I think are some important points about college.

Using a general case, you can expect to earn between 30,000 and 45,000 rupees per month after you finish your MBA. Few stay unemployed or get jobs that pay less than $30,000 per month, and few get more than $40,000 per month.

About 1200 people are in each group, and in business school, that number is very important when most things are taken into account.

Most people are given the chance to work in sales.

Start-ups are a common place for students to do their jobs. Most students get between 0 and 10,000 Rupees per month as a stipend.

Overall, if your CAT score is less than 65%le, it may be a good way to learn.

Which is the better college for an MBA: Sri Balaji Pune or IBS Hyderabad?

Ritesh Prasad Posted On : June 2nd, 2023

Both the colleges are at par. If you’re confused between the two colleges and don’t have substantial work experience you should go for the one that caters to your other needs such as location preference, fee, and hostel facilities. IBS Hyderabad has a great campus and the fee is similar to that of Sri Balaji but if you analyze the report carefully you'll realize that the kind of companies that visit the colleges and batch sizes make a lot of differences. IBS Hyderabad has a batch size of 1200 and in the placement season, you become so complacent that the competition forces you to give up and settle for anything.

How is Vivekanand Business School (VBS), Mumbai compared to IBS Hyderabad?

SB
Sachin Beriwal Posted On : June 3rd, 2023

Both VBS Mumbai and IBS Hyderabad are at par with each other but what makes one different from the other is the batch strength and location. They are typically regarded as same-league colleges, however, VBS would be the personal choice because of its AICTE accreditation and since its 2-year full-time PGDM degree is at par with a regular MBA degree. The atmosphere is vibrant and the environment is friendly which draws students. Your MBA is a valuable investment. It’s supposed to broaden your understanding of how corporate works. Which is better: IBS, Hyderabad or PGDM from NMIMS, Bangalore?

AT
Anuja Trivedi Posted On : September 14th, 2022
M.B.A. Marketing, SVKM's NMIMS

NMIMS Bangalore is better than IBS Hyderabad. Despite being a relatively new branch, it has obtained AMBA certification, a rare feat for any B-School. NMIMS follows an excellent course curriculum. Non-classroom learning is an important aspect of the course. You will get to have real-time hands-on experience.

NMIMS Bangalore placement 2022 had witnessed an average CTC of INR  11.80 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 19.58 LPA. Major recruiters such as EY, Dell, Oracle, Accenture, etc. take part in the placement drive.

How is the MBA course in IBS Hyderabad Is there any return on investment

YA
Yash Arora Posted On : June 15th, 2023
Studied at IBS Hyderabad

IBS Hyderabad is a tier 2 college that offers MBA programs in Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Human Resources.

MBA program is relatively difficult, with the first year being slightly more difficult. The first year is rigorous, with 9 topics in Sem 1 and 8 subjects in Sem 2. Marketing management, Economics, HR, OB, and Accounting Management are among the topics covered.

Case studies are used extensively in the classes. The subjects are the same for everyone in the first year and then differ depending on the specialism in the second.

There is a mix of experienced and novice teachers on the faculty. You will be fortunate if Mr. Shailendra Bisht (one of the greatest faculty members) teaches you marketing.

The application cost for the 2019-2021 batch is 14 lakhs, with an average package of 5.5-6 lakhs (+- 10%).

So, it would take a person around two and a half years to recoup their investment, and keep in mind that I am not accounting for the opportunity cost of the two years spent in the MBA program.

Which college is better for pursuing an MBA - IBS Hyderabad, ISB Hyderabad, or Symbiosis?

AS
Ankit Srivastav Posted On : March 16th, 2022
studied at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad

The best option among these is ISB Hyderabad. It is compared to B-Schools like IIM A, B, C. It will be an ideal fit for you if you have prior work experience of around 5 years. ISB Hyderabad placements are excellent with high salary packages. The average CTC offered to the 2022 batch was INR 34 LPA

IBS Hyderabad can be a great option if you don’t have any work experience. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC received by the students of IBS is around INR 7.97 LPA

Symbiosis isn’t in the same league as these B-Schools. If you are interested in a career in HR, you can consider Symbiosis.
