Are undergraduate students from BITS Pilani sent to foreign universities like IITs?

Well, the answer is Yes. One of my friends from Pilani got a chance to go to Germany for four months in an exchange program. She wrote her bachelor’s thesis from Germany in the German language with the guidance of a German prof.
- BITS Pilani is quite lenient when it comes to the curriculum for the students. My friend was from the chemical branch but she was allowed to team up with the mechanical department during the exchange program.
- The college offers the students to choose either a Practice school, which is a paid internship with industry for 6 months, during your last year of the program or a thesis.
- If you are interested in Practice School, you will be given a form to fill, where you have to mention your preferred industries or institutions for the purpose of research. Later, you will be allotted the industries or institutions on the basis of your branch and score in academics.
- The thesis section is further divided into two main options, On-campus or Off-campus. The on-campus thesis allows you to take an interdisciplinary thesis and you will have to make a choice regarding your advisers from the college professors only.
- In an off-campus thesis, also, you are allowed to take an interdisciplinary thesis. But this thesis involves either an exchange program or an individual invitation.
