Life at IIM Bangalore is great. The classroom sessions are one of a kind. You will get to learn from the best minds in the management sector. Peer learning opportunities are ample. IIM Bangalore follows a trimester pattern -  three terms per year. The weekends usually go by in a blur preparing for quizzes and academics. 

IIM Bangalore offers an enviable hostel life. Food is great. You will get to spend time with some of the sharpest minds in the country. The campus is beautiful and has excellent facilities.

My brother is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore. Here are some of the facts about life at IIM Bangalore.

  • There are usually 3-4 classes each of 1.5 hours daily. There are a total of 12 classes in a week to be conducted.
  • The classes are conducted 6 days a week. Sunday is the week-off. However, sometimes tests are conducted on Sundays also.
  • The sports facilities are good at IIM Bangalore. All the necessary sports facilities are available.
  • The students are often spotted enjoying Football and Frisbee in the floodlights.
  • The students are allotted individual rooms in the college hostel without any strict restrictions.
  • The mess facility is very good in comparison to other IIMs or IITs.
  • The gender ratio for boys and girls is approximately 4:1. 25 % of the class size constitutes girls, it is one of the highest after IIM K.
  • The campus is environmental-friendly and green with lots of trees around
  • The institute provides a wide range of opportunities, be it industrial, cultural, sports, or entrepreneurial.
  • The schedule is not very hectic and you can enjoy your college life.
