Once the admission process is complete, the campus allocated to a student cannot be changed easily. However, it may be possible to change the campus from Sonepat to Ghaziabad since both of these campuses are not as in-demand as some others.
It would be best to contact the admission unit and inquire about the possibility of transferring to the Ghaziabad campus. They will be able to provide more information on the process and any requirements that need to be fulfilled.
Both the colleges are popular for their degree programs in Engineering and Management. While SRM Ghaziabad has a NIRF ranking of 32 under all India University rankings, SRM Sonepat has a ranking of number 1 for top private Universities in India to India Today in 2019.
If you are looking to change your campus from one SRM branch to the other, you will be required to get in touch with the admissions department first.
Secondly, for most academic institutions in India for the engineering fields, the first year’s course curriculum and semester wise subject distribution are more or less the same. Due to this reason, any kind of relocation or transfer usually is only allowed to take place after the first year is complete. So you may have to complete the first two semesters at SRM Sonepat before considering the change to SRM Ghaziabad.
You will be required to provide a legitimate reason for the transfer. You must give an official statement in writing to the administrative department of the college who will then forward the said application to higher authorities who will be responsible for making a decision on a case to case basis. A transfer cannot be made due to anything that is deemed unreasonable.
A GPA above 9.5 will definitely increase your chances of being able to change your campus and get approval from the administrative department.
A formal letter of application must be given to the department as well as the administrative office in order to maintain proper records. The acceptance will also depend upon if seats are available on the other campus for the department you are looking at.
If you are thinking of changing the campus you should inform your department head or the main person-in-charge. The faculty or head might be able to assist with the correct procedure to go about the process.
