Here is the XLRI admission process in brief. 

  • Take XAT. It is an aptitude test like CAT. 
  • If you clear XLRI cutoff, you will get a shortlist. 
  • You have to attend the GD-PI round. It is usually the make-or-break round.

The final selection is based on performance in XAT, Group Discussion, Personal Interviews,  past academics, and relevant work experience.

XLRI is one of the topmost B-Schools in the country. It offers ultimate career growth in the management sector. XLRI Jamshedpur is ranked in the 9th position in the list of best management courses by NIRF. Over several years, XLRI maintained the education standard at the same levels as IIM Indore, IIT Delhi, and IIM Kozhikode.

Admission Details:

The college offers a PGDM BM, Executive Diploma, PG Diploma, PGC BM, PG Certificate, Diploma, and EFPM.

  • XLRI accepts students purely based on academic excellence and merit performances in the entrance exams.

  • The college accepts students based on the XAT exam for domestic students.

  • While NRI students need to attempt XAT/CAT/GMAT.

Selection Procedure:

For a few courses, the selection procedure ends with a personal interview. Here are a few more quick facts about the selection procedure.

  • PGDM(BM & HRM): Based on XAT/GMAT scores along with a graduation degree and three years of work experience.

  • PGDM(GMP): Based on XAT/GMAT scores along with a graduation degree and five years of experience.

  • Fellow Program in Management(FPM): The college enrolls students based on the XAT scores. However, candidates who have GRE/GMAT/GATE/NET/JRF scores need not appear for XAT. Moreover, these candidates are directly eligible for a personal interview even.

  • Executive FPM: These admissions are based on academic performances, Statement Of Purpose(SOP), and professional records in the relevant course. Moreover, the candidates must have a minimum experience of 5 years in management.

  • PG certificate: Unlike many other PG courses in several colleges, XLRI offers only one year PG course. The minimum eligibility requirement is graduation.

Additional Information:

  • The college ensures a 5% relaxation in total scores for SC, ST, OBC candidates, and 10% relaxation in overall admission criteria for SC, ST, OBC, and women candidates.

  • In the management quota, the college has no reserved seats.
