Who can give CSIR UGC NET and CSIR JRF NET?

The eligibility for appearing UGC NET and CSIR NET includes having a postgraduate degree or pursuing their postgraduate degree. The candidates pursuing their postgraduate degree in their 1st semester are eligible to apply. On the grounds of CSIR UGC NET and CSIR JRF NET examination, the candidate can get a job opportunity as assistant professor in the institution and they may also secure other opportunities in DRDO, BARC, ISRO. But in order to get a job, the candidate must have completed their postgraduate degree.

There are major differences between CSIR UGC NET and CSIR JRF NET.

  • CSIR UGC NET includes subjects like Physical science, Mathematical science, Chemical science, Life science, and many more. On the other hand, CSIR JRF NET includes subjects in Arts stream, Commerce stream, Computer science.
  • There is a lot of difference in the cut off criteria. The cut off for CSIR JRF NET is usually higher than CSIR UGC NET. Both the exams are the same but the difference lies in the cutoff. It is observed that the candidate needs some 10-15 marks greater in CSIR JRF NET in comparison with CSIR UGC NET.

The scores of CSIR UGC NET and CSIR JRF NET are valid for two years. The candidate who cleared this examination in their postgraduate program can get a job and other opportunities after completion.

For appearing in CSIR JRF NET, the maximum age limit is 28 yrs whereas for CSIR UGC NET, there is no age limit.
