Other than some minor differences, the process for SSB is the same everywhere be it AFCAT, SSB or NSB.

  • Normal selection for SSB lasts for 5 days. While for AFCAT it takes 6 days. Applicants are given one day to rest in between selection procedures, according to their batch.
  • If you opt for pilot entry in AFCAT, you will have to undergo a test called PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test). You can only attempt this test once. If you fail, you won’t get the chance to attempt again.
  • You will have your psych test in the evening or up till 7 pm on the same day of screening, which is a little hectic.

In AFCAT, one or two obstacles will be totally new but these are not more difficult, just different than SSB.
