Indian Air Force is going to conduct AFCAT 2 soon. Candidates who are applying for the AFCAT exam can find the complete syllabus of AFCAT for ground duty, technical, and flying branch of the Indian Air Force.

AFCAT Syllabus:

Here is a brief overview of the AFCAT syllabus.

General Awareness:

The basic syllabus includes History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics, Civics, Basic Sciences, Defence, Art, etc.

Verbal Ability in English:

The basic syllabus includes Comprehension, Error Detection, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Testing of Vocabulary, Sentence Completion, etc.

Numerical Ability:

It includes topics such as Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Simple Interest, Profit & Loss, etc.

Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section:

It includes Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

Negative Marking:

On the whole, the AFCAT consists of 100 questions and each question comprises three marks. So, the total marks for all questions will be 300.

  • There is one-third negative marking in the AFCAT exam. This implies that for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted as a penalty.
  • Besides this, there will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 3 marks each wherein you will be penalized in the form of deduction of 1 mark for every wrong answer attempted. As a result, 3 incorrect answers will take away 1 correct answer from you.

AFCAT EKT Exam:

  • All applicants whose online applications have been successfully submitted will be called for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for the technical branch).
  • EKT would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT.
  • The duration of AFCAT Exam will be 2 Hours and EKT exam will be for 45 mins.

However, on clearing the AFCAT exam, you will be called for the SSB interview process which is also known as the AFSB interview. AFSB stands for Air Force Selection Board which is located at Mysore, Dehradun, Varanasi, and Gandhinagar.
