Yes, MICA’s PGDM-C degree is equivalent to a proper MBA degree. The institute has AIU accreditation, which makes this degree equivalent to an MBA. The Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM - C) is the flagship program of MICA. The institute trains future business leaders with a focus on effective communication, creative thinking, and community development.

Let us go through a brief overview and leave the rest for you to decide. To reach MICA's flagship post-graduate program: Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C), you would first have to crack the national level test - MICAT. This program offers a total of 180 seats.

A few points to remember are:

  • This exam is conducted twice a year - December and January.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
  • The exam is confined to 3 different areas.
  • The total number of questions is 145.
  • For each correct answer, you would gain 1 mark and you would lose 0.25 marks for each negative answer.
  • When you reach the Psychometric and Descriptive sections, you would have no negative marking.

Now, if we compare CAT, which is already a popular MBA exam in front of this exam, let us go through these points -

  • The total number of questions is 100.
  • The question paper is divided into 3 sections.
  • The total number of questions that carry negative marking is 75.
  • The total number of questions with negative marking is 25.
  • Each correct answer is 3 marks.
  • Negative marks in MCQs is 1 mark.

Indeed, if you crack either of these exams, you would most definitely end up in an MBA institution. And the entire process will vary along with various other aspects before you begin a proper campus life. But then MICA has an entirely different reputation as an MBA institute than others.
