The interview in BIMTECH is part of its selection process. The students have to appear in shortlisting. I have jotted down the most common questions asked in the BIMTECH interview:

  • Why would you like to pursue a PGDM?
  • Why do you want to attend BIMTECH to study?
  • Why made you pick this particular course?
  • What are you planning to do with a PGDM?
  • Who is your role model and why?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

 Questions related to personal attributes:

  • Tell us your accomplishments
  • What are your passions and how have you been able to make the most out of them
  • Would you rather have a job with low pay at a large company or one with a high salary at a small company?
  • A significant piece of news you read today
  • The roles this management degree will play in advancing your career?
  • What extracurricular activities have you been into apart from academics?

Preparing for these questions ensures 70% of your interview goes smoothly. Rest depends on your skills and luck.

Usually, students are asked about their backgrounds, their entrance examination scores, and about their past academics during BIMTECH interviews. One of my juniors interviewed for the 2022-2024 academic year.

  • Interview started with an introduction round.
  • They asked about his CMAT score.
  • Next he was asked about his preferred specialization.
  • Why BIMTECH?

There were other general questions like - ‘If you are selected, what would you pack apart from clothes?’, ‘What are the three places in your city that you will recommend to tourists?’.

The BIMTECH Noida selection process comprises three sections; a Writing Ability Test (WAT) which will include essay writing, then a Group Discussion (GD) round followed at last by the Personal Interview (PI) which usually lasts 25 minutes on average.

There will be generic questions such as –

  • Why do you want to do an MBA?
  • Why do you want to study at BIMTECH?
  • Why did you choose this course?
  • What are your plans after an MBA?
  • Who is your role model and why?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

These are some must ask questions in any MBA admission interview so you must be thorough with them. Then there may be technical questions related to your bachelor’s degree or work if you have relevant experience. They may also ask many tricks and advance questions such as –

  • What are your achievements to date?
  • What are your hobbies and how they have helped you?
  • What will be your choice between a job with a low salary in a big company and a big salary in a small company and why?
  • Do you read newspapers and what is some important news you read today?
  • How a degree in management will help build your career?
  • What did you do in your college? What kind of extracurricular work did you do?

So, the kind of questions that can be asked in an interview is infinite and there is no fixed set of questions you can prepare. The interviewers look for the approach of the candidate towards life and MBA and they assess how effective a communicator you are. You need to convey your ideas and point as convincingly as possible.
