If you're considering Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) as one of your options, let me tell you about some of the good things it has to offer:

  • Affordable fees: As a government college, MIT offers minimal fees compared to other colleges. Additionally, there are various scholarship options available to help you cope with the costs of education.
  • Promising hostels: MIT's hostels are well-maintained and provide a comfortable living experience for students. You may even find yourself feeling nostalgic and emotional when leaving your hostel after graduation.
  • Non-limiting freedom: At MIT, you'll be given much freedom to make your own choices. Whether you enjoy your college life or focus solely on your academics, the decision is entirely up to you. There won't be anyone constantly pressuring you to do one thing or another.
  • Diverse organizations: MIT has around 32 organizations, including NSS, NSO, YRC, PDA, and many more. This variety of organizations allows you to explore different interests and hobbies while making new friends.
  • Senior-junior relationship: The relationship between seniors and juniors at MIT is unique and hard to describe until you experience it for yourself. It's not uncommon for students to have more respect for their seniors than their teachers. This relationship creates a sense of community and belonging that makes your college experience even more special.
  • Opportunities for learning: MIT provides a lot of opportunities for you to learn beyond just your academic subjects. Whether it's through various organizations, workshops, seminars, or other events, you'll find many opportunities to grow and develop as a person.

In conclusion, MIT offers not only affordable education but also a unique college experience. With a welcoming community, a wide range of organizations, and opportunities for personal growth, MIT can provide you with much more than just a degree.

B.E., from Madras Institute of Technology, graduated in 2019

A friend of mine is a student of Madras Institute of Technology and he tells me that the college is pretty good compared to other affiliated ones. The fees are also not that much.

Even though it does not have the best infrastructure, it’s still better than that of other colleges.

Some of the other points to be noted are as follows.

  • The college charges minimal fees as it is a government college. The college also offers a number of scholarships. Even the hostels have a lot of promise.
  • The institute offers a lot of freedom to its students. You will be exposed to 32 organizations which are more than any other college, like, NSS, NSO, YRC, PDA, etc.
  • The faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees and are very experienced. They will guide you enthusiastically in your projects.
  • You can get involved in as many extra-curricular activities as you want. There are associations in the college like YRC, Rotaract, PDA, CSMIT, NSO, and also a Film Club.
  • The library will give you access to books that will help and guide you in exams like TOEFL, CAT, GATE, and GRE.
  • You can get involved in clubs as there is no jam-packed schedule.
  • There are also fests like Sivaranjani and Mitafest.

The alumni network in the college is very good. There is a lot of respect among the juniors and seniors.
