Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU) is a well-established private institute for legal studies and training, situated in Ahmedabad. It was established in 2007 as part of Nirma University and offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in legal education.

ILNU provides two integrated 5-year undergraduate courses, BA-LLB (Hons.) and B.Com-LL.B (Hons.), and various specializations in the LL.M. course. The institute also offers a Ph.D. program.

Candidates applying to the undergraduate courses must have passed Class 12 or any equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 45%. Admission to both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs is based on merit in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) examination. The CLAT exam is conducted annually in May.

The institute's curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal system, and its programs are recognized for their academic rigor and practical exposure. With a strong focus on research and innovation, ILNU provides its students with opportunities to engage in research projects and participate in legal clinics, moot courts, and internships, among other activities.

Nirma University in BA LLB

As the stature of the ILNU is continuously increasing, the competitiveness has also hiked in the past few years.

The Institute of Law, Nirma University admits students on the basis of their CLAT cut-offs. It is subjected to vary each year, and you should keep check for clear updates. However, you can be assured that it will be higher than other private law schools and lower-tier NLUs.

For example, the cut-off range of CLAT back in the year 2016 was 124.

The cut-off partially depends on your All India Rank as they call the top 500 applicants in ILNU for the counseling session rank-wise. In a way, out of all the 500 candidates, a slot of only 150 will be selected.

It depends on the rise criteria. What mostly has been seen previously was that if a student obtains their All India Rank below 3000, then he or she has a higher probability of acquiring admission.
