If you're looking to get into XLRI, Jamshedpur, it's essential to know that they place a lot of emphasis on your XAT performance, which accounts for 65% of the evaluation. Your work experience is only given 5% weightage, so it's not the most critical factor in the admission process.

If you have an above average XAT score (above the 98th percentile) and perform well in your interview, then you stand a good chance of being admitted to XLRI. Many candidates have successfully converted their admission in their first attempt by scoring well in the XAT and performing decently in their interview.

However, it's important to remember that the admission process is highly competitive, and the standards are continually rising. It's always a good idea to work hard and prepare thoroughly to increase your chances of getting into XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Some tips to prepare for the admission process include the following:

  • Studying and practicing for the XAT exam is crucial for admission to XLRI.
  • Researching XLRI and their values can give you a better understanding of the institute and help you prepare for the interview.
  • Being confident and articulate during your interview is essential to make a good impression on the interviewers.
  • With dedication and hard work, you can increase your chances of getting admitted to XLRI.

Starting your journey towards a successful career at XLRI can be a significant milestone in achieving your career goals.

I know many individuals who got into XLRI on the first attempt, in fact, my brother is one of such people. He is an engineer and got selected to MBA BM on his first try. He had a good percentage(99.46) which supports him a lot.

To answer your question, it’s definitely possible for an engineering graduate to secure a seat in XLRI on the first attempt.

It would have been easy to answer if you have mentioned your academic scores. However, academic scores don’t matter that much, as there are many factors at play for the final selection. My brother’s undergraduate scores were also not that impressive.

The best thing you can do is focus on the entrance exam rather than admission criteria. Try to score as high as possible. If you score an amazing percentage then the rest of the factors won’t matter that much.
