4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars

4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars is presented to international freshmen at Eastern Michigan University(EMU). The scholarship is available for international students taking admissions in the fall semester.

  • International students with a 2.75+ cumulative GPA will be eligible for the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars
  • .They have to pay  $14,500 per year.tuition rate for the first two years only .
  • For the remaining two years, the scholarship will cover the full tuition fees of the students.
  • You’ll live in an on-campus community for each of the four years to better serve you as you progress in your degree.
  • Students are not required to fill any application form, they will be automatically considered.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must meet admission requirements at Eastern Michigan University to be eligible for the scholarship. Apart from this, students must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
  • minimum SAT score of 1030 or ACT score of 20.
  • Only undergraduate freshmen are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Opt to live on campus for four years during undergraduate study.
  • Afford to pay $14,500 for the first two years of study.

Application Process

The university does not require to submit any external application for the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars.

All the students who have successfully completed their first and second year in any UG program at Eastern Michigan University are automatically considered.


Selection Process

The selection for the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars is purely based on merit. EMU will review the profiles of all students and checks whether they qualify for the scholarship.

  • If the student has a GPA of over 2.75 and an ACT score of 20 or an SAT score of 1030, he/ she is selected for the scholarship.
  • Selected candidates will receive a 4WARD Graduation Scholarship award email in their admit packet.
  • Selected students will receive a financial award letter via email after the selection.
  • Once the scholarship is granted, students have to maintain passing grades (2.00) in at least 67% of credit hours to remain eligible for renewable of the scholarship.

Note: Taking repeated classes or scoring F, W, I, N, NC grades makes a student ineligible for the further continuance of the scholarship.


Grant Details

EMU understands how costly it is to study in the United States, hence provide a 4WARD Graduation Scholarship for International Scholars to provide financial aid to students.

  • The scholarship covers tuition fees for the last 2 years of UG study at the university.
  • Students taking additional terms during summer have to pay tuition for the summer term separately on their own.
  • Students can choose a suitable billing plan to pay the tuition fee for the first two years.
  • The 4WARD Graduation Scholarship is a four-year program. Students taking more than four years to complete their graduation have to fund studies on their own after the fourth year.

Terms and Conditions regarding Scholarship

  1. Students can receive other scholarships while continuing with the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship.
  2. However, the 4WARD Scholarship cannot be received along with other institutional aids including the EFOS scholarship, Emerald scholarship, housing grant or an athletic scholarship.
  3. The 4WARD Scholarship can be combined with external/ and government scholarship, study loans and aids.
  4. Students may also receive an endowed or departmental award along with 4WARD if it is not intended to pay tuition fees only.
