Deakin International Scholarship

Available to students commencing coursework studies, Deakin International Scholarship offers a 25% tuition fee reduction to international students. The scholarship is awarded to recipients at the time of their admission to Deakin University.

  • Eligible students must have obtained over 65% in their previous studies.
  • An additional applications must be completed before the beginning of the applied semester.
  • Selections of Deakin International Scholarship recipients are based majorly on academic merit.
  • Shortlisted students may have to attend an interview with the selection panel.
  • Unsuccessful applicants of  Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship are automatically considered for Deakin International Scholarship.
  • There is no application deadline for the scholarship, however, it is recommended to submit the application on confirmation of admisson.

Eligibility Criteria

Deakin International Scholarship is offered to international students commencing their coursework studies at the university. The eligibility requirements for the scholarship program are quite simple and straightforward:

  • Attained a minimum average of 65% (or equivalent) in previously completed degree/qualification.
  • Commencing a full-time UG/PG degree coursework degree program at Deakin.
  • Fulfill overall international student admission requirements at Deakin University,
    • ELP Requirements: IELTS over 6.5
    • SOP and LOR
    • Valid visa and passport
    • Transcripts
    • CV and work experience (if required)

Only those applicants who fulfill the requirements given above will be considered for the scholarship program.


Application Process

To apply for the Deakin International Scholarship, applicants have to complete a scholarship application form and send it via post to the University Address.

Applicants have to download the pdf form available on the Deakin University website. After this, they must ensure the completion of following steps:

  1. Complete the application form in Block letters.
  2. Submit all the required information and supporting documents.
  3. Send application via post or email along with required supporting documents to the International Admissions Office at Deakins University.

Selection Process

The selection for Deakin International Scholarship is merit-based. The number of scholarships offered is subject to a scholarship fund and hence students with higher academic scores hold a better chance of receiving the grants.

Applying at the earliest is a possible way of increasing your chances because scholarship applications are processed as soon as they are received. The factors taken into consideration are:

  • Academic merit
  • Personal statement

The selection process may also include an applicant’s interview and will be notified of interview dates and timings as required. After the selection, recipients will be notified of selection to the scholarship within six weeks of applying.
