UCalgary International Entrance Scholarship
UCalgary International Entrance Scholarships are offered to incoming international students applying for any undergraduate program. The university selects two recipients who are awarded CAD 15,000 each, which must be used for the payment of tuition fees.
- The scholarship is renewable in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of the recipients.
- Provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student.
- It is mandatory to enroll for the Fall term of the chosen UCalgary UG program.
- The scholarship application form is necessary and must be completed via myUofC portal.
UCalgary International Entrance Scholarship recipients must note that if there are any remaining funds from the scholarship reward, that amount will be transferred to their bank account.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for applicants planning to secure International Entrance Scholarship is:
- An international student, entering Canada on a study permit.
- Applying for UG program at the University of Calgary
- Enrolling for the upcoming Fall term
- Satisfying ELP score requirements.
As mentioned earlier, the University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is a renewable scholarship program. However, the university has specific Ongoing Eligibility Requirements. Some of those are:
- Minimum GPA of 2.6, or
- Over 24 units in previous Fall and Winter terms
- Maintaining the status of full-time enrolled student
Application Process
International Entrance Scholarship applications can be submitted online only. The applications are invited via the myUofC student portal. To apply for the scholarship,
- Log in to your student account in the myUofC portal.
- Go to "My Financials" page and click on "Apply for Undergraduate Awards".
- Select International Entrance Scholarship from the Undergraduate Awards Application Centre.
- Complete the application process and submit your application.
Note: Once you submit a scholarship/ awards application, you will be automatically considered for all the awards you are eligible for.
Selection Process
The Enrolment Services at the University of Calgary reviews all the scholarship applications and chooses the two deserving candidates as the recipients of the scholarship. The selection procedure includes,
- Scrutiny of student achievements
- Scrutiny of academic records and grades
Other factors affecting scholarship selection may include,
- Exemplary achievements,
- Personal accomplishments,
- Academic merit,
- Commitment to society,
- Extra-curricular activities,
- Contribution to community and/ or campus life,
- Volunteerism to activities,
- Leadership skills and qualities, and
- Financial need of the student.
Grant Details
The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship offers up to CAD 15,000. The reward amount can only be used for the payment of tuition fees.
Remaining funds, if any, after the tuition and fees are covered, will be paid to the scholarship awardee by direct deposit to his / her bank account. Such payments are called "Payout of Scholarship Funds". Also, to receive the award payment, you must continue to meet the terms of reference of the scholarship and maintain full-time registration during the Fall and Winter terms coming forth.
