Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship

Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship is offered to the incoming international students who are planning to pursue their studies at the university. The scholarship amount is available to the Bangor UG and PG Taught courses that start from September 2023.

  • For the Undergraduate courses, recipients will get 50% Tuition Fee reduction for Year 1
    • Up to EUR 3,000 per year for Year 2 & 3.
  • For Postgraduate students, the scholarship amount will be 50% reduction in the Tuition Fee.
  • Personal and academic statement must also be included at the time of scholarship application.

Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship recipients can use the scholarship amount for the payment of tuition fees and accommodation. Applicants of the 2023 scholarship session must submit their applications before May 1.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship at Bangor University is given below:

  • Fulfill the academic requirements of the UG and PG course:
    • For Undergraduate Course- Grades must be equivalent of GCE A-level A grade students
    • For Postgraduate Course- Grades must be equal to a UK 1st class Bachelors degree
  • Must have secured admission at Bangor University.
  • Must NOT be sponsored by a third party.
  • Must have enrolled for a full-time on-campus program only.

Note: The UG students may continue to get the scholarship amount in Years 2 and 3, only if they achieve a minimum overall grade of 70% or above.


Application Process

Before applying for Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship, the students must have received an offer letter from the university for their chosen program.

After that, applicants must complete the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship application form. Email the completed form along with supporting documents to Kerry Marie Jones at Kerry.jones@bangor.ac.uk.

The application deadline for Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship 2023 is April 17, 2023. 


Selection Process

Applicants of the Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship program are evaluated on the pre-decided criteria. Eligible candidates will be reviewed by the concerned academic department. The selected candidates will be informed of the scholarship decision in May 2023. 

Recipients must note that they are required to pay a deposit amount of GBP 2,000, within two weeks, to confirm their acceptance of the Bangor University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship.

Terms and Conditions for Recipients 

  • Half of the scholarship amount will be provided in the form of a reduction in tuition fees and the remaining half will be utilized towards the cost of University-managed accommodation.
  • The students who are taking up a place in university-managed accommodation will lose 50% of the scholarship (except in cases where the university accommodation is not a suitable option).
  • The recipients are expected to become scholarship ambassadors and invest their time and efforts towards the university promotion both as students and in later years as alumni as well.

Grant Details

The eligible international students who have received an offer letter from the university to pursue their studies can apply for Bangor University Vice-Chancellors Scholarship; the selected students for the scholarship will get funding that can be used towards paying tuition fees and accommodation charges as well. Recipients will receive:

  • 50% tuition scholarship and remaining half accommodation scholarship
  • The selected Undergraduate recipient will continue to get the scholarship amount in Years 2 and 3, subject to achieving at least an overall grade of 70% or above at the end of Year 1 and 2.
