Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship

Jagdish Bhagwati fellowship is offered by the Indian government to Indian students who want to pursue graduate at Columbia Law School. Students who wish to pursue the Columbia LLM program in international trade, human rights, public interest, and trade law, are eligible for the fellowship

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for Jagdish Bhagwati, Fellowship students are required to meet the admission requirements at Law School, Columbia University.

Apart from that, the applicant must fulfill the eligibility criteria listed below:

  • Must be enrolled in an LLM program offered by Columbia Law School.
  • Area of specialization should be in the study of international trade, trade law, public interest, and human rights.
  • For being eligible for the LLM program, the applicant must possess a first degree in law.
    • A degree in any other subject will not be considered for the program.
  • Candidates with work experience of minimum one year after completing their first law degree will be given preference.
