The Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded by Macquarie University to students who are citizens of India. Students planning to pursue a postgraduate degree under the Faculty of Arts at the university are eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is eligible for graduates of three premier institutes in India. Additionally, interested candidates need to meet the following criteria:

Note : Must not have received a scholarship or sponsorship from Macquarie University or another organisation for the degree (unless stated otherwise by the Scholarship Committee).


Application Process

To be considered for this scholarship applicants are required to complete a nomination form and hold a valid offer letter to study at Macquarie University. As part of the application form you must:

  • Enter your student number as outlined on your Macquarie University Offer Letter.
  • Submit an application form and type “Indian Arts Partner" in the Scholarship Name field.

Selection Process

Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is awarded to students based on their academic performance at the UG level. The students are also required to submit proof of the offer to study in an on-campus post-graduate program at the Macquarie University, to their undergraduate institute to get nominated for the scholarship.


Grant Details

Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is awarded to Indian students who have received an undergraduate degree from Lady Shri Ram College for Women (New Delhi), St. Xavier’s College (Kolkata) or Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai).

Covering 5% of the tuition cost at the Macquarie University, the scholarship helps students enrolled in a postgraduate degree under the Faculty of Arts. The students who receive the Indian Partner Arts Scholarship should bear in mind certain rules and regulations that they are expected to comply with during their study.

  • Enrolment and commencement of the study should be done in accordance with the dates mentioned in the Letter of Offer. Delayed admission is not allowed.
  • A full-time course load of 8 standard units should be taken up by the student in every academic year.
  • The scholarship is applicable for on-campus study only.
  • If a student leaves the program without graduating from the program, he/she might be held responsible for returning the scholarship amount received.

The Indian Partner Arts Scholarship is awarded as a result of an MoU (memorandum of agreement) signed between Macquarie University and the three prominent Indian Universities for humanities students.

The agreement stipulates that each participating institute will offer two scholarships to help graduates from these Indian institutes continue their postgraduate education at Macquarie University. Students who receive this award are additionally allowed to find part-time employment during the period of their study to add to their income and also to help them gain work experience.
