QUT International Merit Scholarship

  • a scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees for your first two semesters (one year) of study at QUT, provided you meet the minimum academic standards.
    • available from all faculties.
  • An ongoing scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees per semester of study at QUT, provided you meet the ongoing academic conditions for all eligible courses offered by:
    • Faculty of Business and Law
    • Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice
    • Faculty of Engineering
    • Faculty of Science.
  • International students with excellent academic records in the past can are eligible for QUT International Merit Scholarship.
  • The ongoing scholarship is not available for courses offered by the Faculty of Health.

Applicants must note that QUT International Merit Scholarship is a renewable scholarship program. However, for this, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 5.5 on a 7.0 scale

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective candidates are required to fulfill general eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Fulfilling the minimum academic score requirement for the chosen program.
    • International students must satisfy country-specific entry requirements.
  • Minimum TOEFL/IELTS/PTE test score to study in Australia.
  • Applying for an eligible UG or PG program at QUT.
  • you may be eligible for this scholarship once you start your degree program

You're not eligible if:

  • you receive another QUT academic scholarship.

Qualifications for Students Applying from Overseas

GCA A levels 12 A level points on taking the aggregate of 3 academic subjects.
United Exam Certificate (UEC) Average score of 2 subjects out of 5 (excluding Chinese, Malay, and PE)
India – School Certificate awarded by CBSE or CISCE Above 80% in 5 academic subjects(2 languages and 3 academic subjects), excluding PE
India – State Board (10+2), Senior High School Certificate Above 90% in 5 academic subjects(2 languages and 3 academic subjects), excluding PE
International Baccalaureate Diploma (completed outside Australia) Aggregate of 34
Chinese National University Entrance Exam -GAOKAO 85% in 4 academic subjects

Application Process

QUT International Merit Scholarship candidates are not required to apply separately.

The applications submitted by the candidates to secure admission at the Queens University of Technology are assessed for the scholarship too.

The officials from QUT will be informed about their eligibility for the scholarship program via email.


Selection Process

The selection decision for QUT International Merit Scholarship is made on the basis of an applicant’s academic performance.

Since it is a merit-based scholarship, the recipients are the ones who have high achievements and meet the eligibility criteria set by QUT.

Furthermore, to receive the ongoing scholarship, applicants must fulfill the requirements given below:

  • Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 5.5 on the QUT 7.0 scale.
  • Successfully complete each academic unit.

Grant Details

Sponsored by the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the QUT International Merit Scholarships are offered to incoming international students.

The scholarship program is applicable for various UG and PG programs in Science and Engineering. Some of eligible areas of study include Information technology, Engineering, mathematics, etc.
