Eligibility Criteria

The Sheffield Hallam University specifies certain eligibility criteria that students are required to comply with to be deemed eligible for the Sheffield Hallam Transform Together Scholarship. Applicant must:

  • be an international student with a student visa to the UK or European Union (non-UK) fee-paying student
  • Meet the academic eligibility requirements-
    • Postgraduate taught programs-
      • a minimum of 2.1 or equivalent at the honors level.
      • English language requirements
      • other program-specific admission requirements.
    • Undergraduate programs-
      • English language requirements through TOEFL/ IELTS
      • other academic admission requirements
  • have received and accepted an offer for a full-time undergraduate/ postgraduate level study at Sheffield Hallam University.
  • be fully self-funding their studies at the university and must not be sponsored by external sources such as the government, employers, scholarship providers or private organizations.

The applicants should also be able to demonstrate sufficient funds to pay for any additional fees such as field trips, tuition fees for subsequent years of study or other living expenses, etc.


Application Process

To apply for Transform Together Scholarships for programs commencing in September 2023, applicants are required to fulfill the following steps:

  • Apply for a UG or PG program at Sheffield Hallam University.
  • Check the scholarship eligibility criteria
  • After accepting the admission offer from Sheffield Hallam, complete the scholarship application by May 31, 2023, along with the following documents-
    • Scholarship application form
    • Academic transcripts emailed to globalscholarshiptranscripts@shu.ac.uk by May 31, 2023

Once the student has been accepted to the university, an eight-digit Student Identifier (SI) number would be provided to the student. The applicant must make sure to mention the SI number in the scholarship application form. If an applicant has been eligible for the scholarship, applicants are notified about the scholarship within one month of the deadline.


Selection Process

Transform Together Scholarships are awarded to academically gifted international students with the potential to act as an ambassador for Sheffield Hallam University. The notification about the scholarship is sent to the student through an email no later than a month after the scholarship deadline.

The selections for the scholarship are made based on-

  • the academic excellence showcased by the applicant
  • the strength of the scholarship application form submitted.

All scholarship decisions are made at the university’s discretion and must be deemed as final. Since the scholarships are competitive, applicants are advised to complete their admission and scholarship applications on time.


Grant Details

The Sheffield Hallam Transform Together Scholarships are awarded by the Sheffield Hallam University. The scholarship is exclusively awarded to international students and students from the European Union except for the UK. A half fee waiver is awarded to students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate taught program only for the first year of study.

Terms and Conditions

The University also clearly lays out the circumstances under which a candidate is liable to become ineligible to apply for the scholarship

  • The scholarship is awarded one time only. Further, it can only be applied for the academic year it was originally intended for after which the scholarship becomes void.
  • Students who have already started their undergraduate/ postgraduate program at the university may not apply for a scholarship for their current program.
  • Students who have previously received a Transform Together Scholarship at a particular level of study may not apply for the scholarship at the same level.
  • Only self-funded students will be considered for the program.
  • Students applying to partner institutes of Sheffield Hallam, located outside the UK will not be considered for the scholarship.
  • Students applying for the International Foundation Programmes are not eligible to apply.
  • Students can only apply for the scholarship once they have received and accepted an offer of admission at the Sheffield Hallam University to an undergraduate/ postgraduate program.
