Vice-Chancellor Scholarship - India and Sri Lanka

La Trobe India Scholarship is presented to Indian students who can demonstrate excellent academic merit and need financial support. Students who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies at La Trobe University are eligible.

  • Scholarship offers a 100% reduction in course of the fees at La Trobe.
  • Students must complete their admission application to be considered for it.
    • The course application will be assessed for the same.
    • It must be completed before December 31, 2023
  • Future undergraduates & Future postgraduate can apply

Since La Trobe India Scholarships is limited in number, applicants must apply at La Trobe University at the earliest.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen and resident of India or Sri Lanka.
  • Be a full-fee paying student (Non-Sponsored)
  • Have an overall WAM* (AQF Equivalent) of 80% or above.
  • Meet all the conditions in the offer letter by the deadline provided.

*A WAM is an average mark that takes into account the credit point value of the subjects that you have completed. It is based on the actual mark of all subjects completed in your course at any given time.


Application Process

  • Applicants must submit a complete application for the course commencing in Semester 2 (July) or Summer 1 (November) intake of 2023 at La Trobe University.
  • Applicants must also provide the following documents before the application closing date to apply for this scholarship:
  1. A detailed resume
  2. a 4-5 minute video recording answering the below questions
    • Why should you be selected for this scholarship?
    • Why have you chosen la Trobe University?
    • What are your career goals?
    • How would you like to make a difference to the world/community using this qualification?
  • Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
  • Applicants who have already applied for Semester 2 or Summer 1 of 2023 will be considered for the scholarship if they met the eligibility criteria.

Selection Process

Once applications are submitted, next comes the selection process. Applicants will be selected for the scholarship on the basis of the following factors:

  • Overall WAM
  • Academic achievement
  • Extra-curricular activities.
  • Social activities

Recipients will be notified about the same by the selection committee.


Grant Details

  • La Trobe offers La Trobe India Scholarship to Indian students who wish to study in the UK with some financial aid.
  • The scholarship is a merit-based award given to academically excellent students.

How is it paid?

This scholarship will be applied to your tuition fees for the entire duration of the course. The scholarship will be reflected on your Statement of Account every semester. Please note that failure to meet the scholarship terms and conditions may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship. The student must cover the cost of OSHC policy.
